Burlington is the only place we serve where the first question is not when you are flying, but which airport you are flying from. Pearson is around forty minutes up the 407 or the 403. Hamilton sits fifteen to twenty minutes away at the other end of town. Buffalo is close enough that a good number of Burlington travellers cross the border for a cheaper fare. Three genuine options, and the right one depends entirely on the trip.

Three airports, and choosing between them

For long haul and most international routes, Pearson is still the answer and the run is a simple one. For domestic flights and the leisure carriers, Hamilton is often quicker door to door than Pearson is, and the difference in driving time is substantial when the departure is early.

Buffalo is worth considering for the fare and worth planning for the border. We build in real time for the crossing rather than an optimistic figure, and we tell you honestly what a bad day at the Peace Bridge looks like. Whichever you choose, we track the flight and adjust the pickup, and there is no difficulty in departing from one airport and returning through another.

The Skyway, and why timing matters here

Anyone who lives in Burlington knows the Skyway. The QEW crossing over the canal is the pinch point for everything heading east, and when it is reduced for maintenance or closed for weather the whole town feels it.

Aldershot, downtown and the Roseland streets are on the wrong side of it for a Pearson run, so we route through the 403 and the 407 rather than joining the queue. Millcroft, Alton Village, Headon Forest, the Orchard and the northern subdivisions have easier access to the 407 and a more predictable trip. We take that decision on the morning based on what is actually happening rather than on a fixed route.

Weddings on the escarpment and the waterfront

Burlington has two distinct wedding landscapes and they are ten minutes apart. The waterfront around Spencer Smith Park and the pier gives the lake and the skyline across it. North of Dundas, the countryside around Lowville, Kilbride and the escarpment at Mount Nemo and Rattlesnake Point offers something completely different, rural and quiet, with the Bruce Trail running through it.

Couples frequently want both in one day, and the drive between them is short but narrow and slow in places. We plan the photography window with realistic travel times, keep the wedding party in one vehicle and handle parents and older guests separately. The gardens along the Hamilton border are the third option and are at their best in late spring.

Festivals, the waterfront and evenings out

Burlington's summer belongs to the waterfront. The music festival in June and the ribfest later in the season both take over the downtown core and the park, and both make parking anywhere near Brant Street a genuinely poor use of an afternoon.

Being dropped at the top of Brant and collected afterwards at an agreed point away from the crowd is a considerably better way to attend either. The restaurants along Brant and Lakeshore, the performing arts centre and the gallery handle the rest of the calendar, and the Toronto trips for a game, a show or a dinner are long enough each way that a chauffeured car pays for itself in the return leg alone.

Corporate and regular travel

Burlington's business traffic runs along the QEW and the North Service Road and up through the Harvester and Mainway corridors. It is steady rather than heavy, and mostly consists of visiting staff and clients who need a full day handled rather than a single transfer.

Corporate accounts get consolidated monthly billing and one point of contact for schedule changes. For residents who make the same airport trip every month, we can set up a standing arrangement so the booking does not have to be repeated each time.

Booking a car in Burlington

Reserve online, by phone or by email, and you will have written confirmation with your vehicle, chauffeur and pickup details in advance. Tell us which airport when you book, because the timing for Hamilton, Pearson and Buffalo are three quite different calculations and we would rather set it correctly at the start.
